PETN (Penta Erythritol Tetra Nitrate)

Penta Erythritol Tetra Nitrate (PETN) is a white colour crystalline material. The crystals are short and hexagonal with minimum elongates and free from needle shaped crystals, dust and visible impurities. PETN is used independently as a high explosive, as the explosive core for detonating cords or as an ingredient of composite explosives.

Storage Conditions

PETN is classified as an "explosive" and must be stored in magazines on wooden platforms/reapers.

Packing

11.25 Kgs Dry PETN with minimum 25% moisture is packed in double lined heavy gauge polythene bags. The bag is kept in an aluminium container provided with a lid. One such container is packed in a laminated corrugated carton.
